State-of-the-art lymphatic drainage technology in Houston
Recovery is just as important as the procedure itself. At Texas Liposuction Specialty Clinic, we believe your body deserves support throughout every phase of the body contouring process. That’s why we’re proud to offer BallancerPro, an FDA-cleared compression therapy system that’s often called “the Rolls-Royce of lymphatic massage.”
At Texas Liposuction Specialty Clinic, BallancerPro treatments are overseen by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eric Payne, who incorporates advanced lymphatic support into his post-op recovery protocols to help patients heal more smoothly and comfortably.
What Is the BallancerPro?
BallancerPro is the world’s most advanced medical-grade compression therapy system. FDA-cleared and based on more than 40 years of clinical research, the BallancerPro harnesses the principles of lymphatic drainage massage to support the natural healing process after liposuction and other surgeries by improving circulation, eliminating toxins and reducing fluid buildup to minimize swelling.
The BallancerPro system utilizes a full-body suit that delivers wave-like compression and massage, designed to mimic the techniques of manual lymphatic drainage. The compression suit is equipped with 24 overlapping chambers that inflate and deflate in a carefully calibrated sequence, moving from your extremities to the core of your body to encourage lymphatic fluid to flow in its natural direction. There are a variety of different settings to choose from, including:
- Wave cycle: Long, slow sequential massage, suitable for recovery after exercise or when experiencing heaviness in the legs
- Ballancer® cycle: Lighter, short sequence massage
- Pre-Therapy® cycle: Patented sequence for stimulating the lymph nodes
- Intense cycle: Strongest setting for optimal lymphatic drainage
BallancerPro is commonly recommended as part of our post-op care plan following liposuction procedures, such as awake lipo or Lipo 360. Depending on your needs, Dr. Payne will select the right setting for you. No matter which mode is used, the result is reduced swelling, improved circulation and a full-body feeling of lightness that many patients describe as deeply relaxing.
What Is Lymphatic Massage, and Why Is It Important After Liposuction?
Your lymphatic system is your body’s natural waste removal network. When it experiences increased demand, whether due to stress, inflammation or as a result of surgery, it can get overwhelmed, causing excess fluid to build up in affected areas. The visible swelling that occurs can feel tight and uncomfortable. While swelling will subside naturally, it happens gradually over several weeks, with residual swelling and puffiness taking three to six months to fully resolve.
Lymphatic drainage massage speeds up this process by actively supporting your body’s natural healing. It also helps prevent certain complications, including seromas (fluid-filled pockets beneath the skin), fibrosis (hardened scar tissue) and contour irregularities.
At Texas Liposuction Specialty Clinic, Dr. Payne has seen firsthand the difference that lymphatic massage can make after liposuction. Patients who incorporate BallancerPro into their recovery experience less bruising, faster resolution of swelling and smoother final results.

What Is the BallancerPro Treatment Experience Like?
During your treatment session, you’ll lie comfortably on a table while wearing the BallancerPro compression suit, which comprises two parts: pants for the hips, thighs, buttocks and stomach, and a jacket for the upper body, arms and back. You can wear the full suit or choose to focus on specific areas. There are 24 individual chambers in the system, and BallancerPro is equipped with advanced sensor controls which detect, measure and adjust the pressure to various areas!
Once you’re comfortably positioned, the system activates to begin its massage cycle. You’ll feel each chamber inflate and deflate in a rhythmic, wave-like pattern. The pressure is gentle and consistent, with customizable settings that allow us to tailor each session to your specific needs. Sessions take about 30-40 minutes, and most patients find the BallancerPro deeply relaxing. Some fall asleep during their treatment, while others read, relax or listen to music.

What Results Can I Expect?
Many patients notice an immediate difference after their first BallancerPro session. You may feel lighter, less bloated and more energized. Your clothes may fit more comfortably. Some patients report improved sleep quality the night after treatment.
For post-surgical recovery, the benefits accumulate with each session. Most protocols call for a series of treatments, typically six to 12 sessions over the course of three to four weeks, with 24 to 48 hours between appointments. This schedule allows your lymphatic system time to respond and adapt while maintaining momentum toward your goals.
Long-term benefits require consistency. After completing an initial treatment series, many patients choose to continue with maintenance sessions once or twice per month to preserve their results and support lasting lymphatic health.
Your Care Is in Expert Hands
At Texas Liposuction Specialty Clinic, you’re in the care of one of Houston’s most respected plastic surgeons. Dr. Eric Payne is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and currently serves as President of the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons. His extensive training spans over a decade and includes five years of general surgery at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, a two-year reconstructive plastic surgery fellowship at The University of Texas Health McGovern Medical School, and an additional fellowship in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery.
Dr. Payne knows the best results come from attention to detail at every step of the patient experience, not just the procedure itself. Rather than leaving recovery to chance, he invests in advanced technology like BallancerPro to give patients real support during the healing process. It’s the same reason he takes time during consultations to understand not only what you want to change but why it matters to you. For Dr. Payne, body contouring has always been about helping patients feel at home in their own skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is BallancerPro different from manual lymphatic massage?
Manual lymphatic drainage requires a skilled therapist to apply rhythmic pressure in a very precise, specific way. While effective, the quality of treatment can vary depending on the practitioner's technique and energy level. A 60-minute session can only cover so much territory.
BallancerPro delivers consistent, calibrated pressure across every area of the body, ensuring comprehensive coverage that would require multiple hands working in perfect coordination to replicate. The technology removes human variability from the equation while maintaining the gentle touch that makes lymphatic massage effective.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your goals and whether you're using BallancerPro for post-surgical recovery or general wellness. For liposuction recovery, most patients benefit from six to 12 sessions spread over three to four weeks. For general wellness, a similar initial series helps establish results, with maintenance sessions once or twice per month.
Is the level of compression painful or uncomfortable?
Not at all. BallancerPro applies effective but gentle pressure that most patients find deeply relaxing. The sensation has been described as a rhythmic, wave-like massage or a comforting full-body hug. Pressure levels are fully customizable, ranging from 20 to 80 mmHg, and we'll adjust the settings based on your comfort and treatment goals.
How soon after liposuction can I start BallancerPro treatments?
Most surgeons recommend beginning lymphatic drainage within three to seven days after liposuction, depending on your individual healing progress and the extent of your procedure. Dr. Payne will provide specific guidance based on your surgery and recovery. Starting early can help minimize swelling, reduce bruising and prevent the formation of fibrosis or scar tissue beneath the skin.
Do I still need to wear compression garments between sessions?
Yes. While BallancerPro is a powerful tool that aids the recovery process, it doesn’t replace the consistent support provided by compression garments. Your post-op compression garments apply steady, even pressure that helps your skin adhere to its new contours, minimizes swelling and supports the healing tissues while you go about your daily activities. Dr. Payne will provide specific instructions on how long to wear your compression garment each day.
